The Rotary Club of Coimbatore New Town hosted the official visit of District Governor Rtn.Chella K.Ragavendran on May 12, 2026, in an evening marked by fellowship, service, and inspiring leadership. The event commenced with a ceremonial procession of Rotary leaders, followed by traditional collaring ceremonies, invocation, and the Rotary Four-Way Test, setting the tone for a meaningful gathering.
Club President Thirunavukkarasu delivered the welcome address, while Secretary Rtn.Nagaraju presented the club’s achievements and service initiatives undertaken during the year. The evening also acknowledged the presence of visiting Rotarians and distinguished guests from various clubs, reflecting Rotary’s spirit of unity and fellowship.
A key highlight of the program was the presentation of two impactful community service projects. The club extended financial support towards the education of the son of Mr. Rangasamy who is deaf and mute, who displayed remarkable humanity by donating his late wife’s organs despite personal tragedy. In another initiative, the club donated a desktop to the Coimbatore Sports and Games Welfare Association to Mr.A.Shanmugasundaram to encourage sports development and community outreach.
The gathering was further enriched by addresses from Rotary leaders including Governor’s Group Representative Rtn.Durai Murugan, and Assistant Governor Rtn.Muralidharan who emphasized service, leadership, and Rotary values. Their words of encouragement and the future way forward was very insightful. In his keynote address, District Governor Rtn.Chella K. Ragavendran shared his vision for Rotary and inspired members to continue creating meaningful impact in society through dedicated service. His guidelines and inspirational stories were motivating and the club has a clear direction on how to proceed with his guidance.
The evening concluded with felicitation of dignitaries, expressions of gratitude, and a vote of thanks and a sumptuous dinner leaving attendees motivated and united in Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self.”
